2015 Lady Techster Soccer Camps

Starting on Tuesday, March 24th at 6 p.m., the Louisiana Tech soccer coaching staff and players will continue to offer free soccer clinics to all ages every Tuesday and Thursday through the spring and summer.

It will be a skill-based clinic for highly motivated young players. There will be an emphasis on skill development with repetition of technical play in drills. There will be no scrimmaging or free play. The drills will be of a very challenging nature and we only recommend those with a good foundation of soccer ability to come along.

People who sign up must be committed for the whole course of clinics. An increased level in technical ability will only occur if there is consistent training and repetition. We also reserve the right to refuse any child if we believe they do not have the necessary work ethic or attitude for such training.

All camps will be held at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex located across the street from the Charles Wyly Athletic Center.

The Louisiana Tech soccer staff will also be hosting an Elite Spring ID Camp on Saturday, June 6 for any and all female players in grades 9-12.

This one-day camp provides the committed soccer player with exposure to a competitive Division I training environment and an opportunity to work with the LA Tech soccer staff at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.

There will be a 30-minute registration period beginning at 9 a.m. that day followed by a two-hour soccer session featuring a mixture of technical soccer drills to help develop technical and tactical play which in turn can be used as a foundation to learn one's role on the team according to position. The campers will also participate in small-sided and full-sided games during this period.

After a lunch break (NOT included in fee), another two-hour session will follow which will feature more tactical training plus 8v8 and 11v11 match play.

Goalkeepers will also get the special privilege of getting to work with assistant coach Josh Wagenaar for two separate 30-minute goalkeeping sessions during the day.  Coach Wagenaar has played professionally as a goalkeeper in some of Europe's top leagues and has also represented his country at the national level.

He currently has his NSCAA Level 3 goalkeeping certificate.  His experience and knowledge of the goalkeeping position makes this a "must not miss event" for those goalkeepers looking to play at the next level.

The cost of the one-day camp is $85. There is a $10 discount if registered by May 6.
