Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex
Situated in the heart of all of the Louisiana Tech athletic facilities -- surrounded by Joe Aillet Stadium, the Thomas Assembly Center, the Lady Techster Soccer Complex and the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex -- are eight lighted tennis courts that make up the LA Tech Tennis Complex.
Construction on the facility began in March 2008 and concluded five months later in August. Then on Oct. 15, 2008, the women's tennis team played and swept Grambling State in their inaugural match at the new facility. A dedication ceremony took place two weeks later as then Tech President Dr. Dan Reneau officially announced it as the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
Since then it has seen the Lady Techsters host its first-ever conference match on April 8, 2010 against Hawai'i. They then notched their first-ever conference win a few days later on April 10 against San Jose State.
The past five seasons has seen the Lady Techsters use the facility as a home court advantage, tallying a 30-24 all-time record with an active winning streak of eight dating back to 2012.
One of many advantages to the location of the complex is its location behind the track facility. The track provides a barrier from the northerly winds and is a major plus for the team.
The old tennis courts contained a lighting system that was situated in between the courts. The lighting system at the new complex evenly covers the entire facility.
