Tech Quadruple-Header Set for Saturday

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech fans will have a full day of athletic activities Saturday as the Bulldog baseball and basketball teams and the Lady Techster basketball and tennis teams will all be in action on campus.

The day begins at noon when the Lady Techster tennis team hosts Texas-Pan American at the Lady Techster Tennis Complex. Head coach Quinton Yray's team is 4-2 on the season after defeating Southeastern Louisiana 5-2 on Sunday. Admission to all Lady Techster tennis matches is free.

Wade Simoneaux and the Bulldog baseball team will play the second game of its three-game series against McNeese State starting at 1 p.m. at JC Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. The Bulldogs enter the weekend series with a 3-2 record after its recent two-game road sweep at UAPB and UALR. The series against the Cowboys begins Friday at 6 p.m. and culminates Sunday at 1 p.m.

Michael White and the Bulldog basketball team wraps up its home schedule at 3 p.m. when they tipoff against Hawaii on Senior Day. Tech seniors Trevor Gaskins and Romario Souza will both be recognized prior to tipoff against the Rainbow Warriors. The contest will be televised live on ESPN Full Court and on Cox Sports Television. Tech defeated Hawaii 74-70 on Jan. 19 in Honolulu.

Following the Bulldogs game, Teresa Weatherspoon and the Lady Techsters will host New Mexico State with tipoff set for 6 p.m. Five LA Tech seniors will be suiting up for the final time in Ruston as Jasmine Bendolph, Shantale Bramble-Donaldson, Angie Felton, Whitney Jones and Kiara Young will be honored at halftime. Tech defeated NMSU 69-42 in Las Cruces in the first meeting of the year between the two teams.
