Tech Student-Athletes Earn Degrees

RUSTON - Twelve Louisiana Tech current or former student-athletes earned their degrees Saturday during winter commencement exercises held at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Former Bulldog running back and NFL veteran Ryan Moats was among the group as the Texas native earned his degree in general studies after bypassing his senior year and leaving the University early following the 2004 season for the NFL Draft.

In addition to Moats' graduation, eleven more Tech student-athletes graduated on Saturday including Larry Banks (football, sociology), Richie Casey (football, kinesiology-health promotions), IK Enemkpali (football, sociology), Ray Holley (football, master's in counseling and guidance), David Jones (football, kinesiology-health promotions), Michelle Jones (softball, health and physical education), Amanda Krueger (softball, sociology), Emily Maher (volleyball, family and child studies), Stephany Salas (volleyball, sociology), Kim Smith (T&F, general studies) and Alex Williams (baseball, kinesiology-health promotions).

Louisiana Tech's student athletes continue to rank among the top in the state and conference in Graduation Success Rate and Academic Progress Rate.
