RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech Athletic Department will be one of a number of the university's departments that will financially benefit from the passing of Referendum Get More.

The referendum, which was voted on by the Louisiana Tech student body Wednesday and Thursday, was a bill that would increase the student fees by$25 per quarter, $10 of which will go to the Tech Athletic Department.

Student Government Association President Jennifer Porter said that 70 percent of the over 2,200 students who voted on the bill voted to approve the self assessed fees. In addition to the benefits to the Tech Athletic Department, other Tech organizations that will financially benefit are the SGA, Union Board, KLPI, club sports, drama club, debate club, The Tech Talk and spirit groups.

Louisiana Tech's enrollment is at an all-time high as 11,975 students enrolled during the fall quarter.
