'Tech's in Town' Alumni Gathering is Headed to Dallas and Fort Worth
May 19, 2014
RUSTON - After making pit stops in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Houston this year, `Tech's in Town' is hitting the road once more.
This time the alumni gathering will be heading back to the Lone Star State to visit Fort Worth and Dallas on May 28 and 29, respectively.
Speaking at the two events will be President Les Guice and Athletics Director Tommy McClelland. They will be joined by a trio of guest speakers -- head men's basketball coach Michael White, head women's basketball coach Tyler Summitt and head football coach Skip Holtz.
"As alumni living hundreds of miles from your alma mater, it's easy to feel detached from the school," said Caroline Reaves who lives in the DFW area while also serving on the Alumni Association Board. "Events like `Tech's in Town' not only acquaint you with the athletic coaches and school administration, they also foster a renewed enthusiasm for Tech by providing updates, sneak peeks into upcoming events, and a schedule of events for the coming year.
"Programs like `Tech's in Town' are a great way to reconnect to the school we love from our own backyard."
A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. for each event at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen with dinner and remarks to follow. The cost is 25 dollars per person.
