Summer Camps Fast Approaching for LA Tech Sports

RUSTON - The 2013-14 athletic season may be coming to a close, but the season of summer rapidly approaching which means it's almost camp time on the campus of Louisiana Tech.

Kids of all ages will meet on the LA Tech fields and courts here shortly to work with the Bulldog and Lady Techster coaching staffs on developing their skills and fundamentals, all while having plenty of fun in the process.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Michael White Basketball Camps will take place inside the Thomas Assembly Center and will run from June 9-12 as the first Day Camp and July 14-17 as the second Day Camp for boys in grades 4-12.

The second type of camp will be a Junior Bulldog Camp that runs from July 7-9 for boys in grades K-6.

The cost of the Day Camp is $200 per camp session while the cost of the Junior Camp is $100 for the camp session.

A team camp will also be held June 6-7 for boys' junior varsity and varsity teams.

FOOTBALL

LA Tech Football will be conducting a variety of camps throughout Louisiana.

However, camp season will start with the first one inside Joe Aillet Stadium in hosting a High School Camp on June 1 with a cost of $25.

The football coaching staff will then head to New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles and Shreveport/Bossier City for one day satellite camps starting on June 5. The cost for each camp is $25.

The coaches will then head back to Ruston to host a Youth Camp on June 14 with a cost of $40, as well as a second High School Camp on July 20.

There will also be a 20-on-20 Team Passing Camp the day before on July 19 with a cost of $400 per team ($20/player, $20/additional players over 20).

SOFTBALL

Two types of Softball Camps are scheduled for the month of June at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.

The first softball camp is schedule for June 10-12 for girls in middle school and high school with a cost of $275 for commuter campers and $335 for overnight campers.

The following week, a Tiny Techster Camp is set for June 16-19 for girls in elementary school with a cost of $40 per day or $140 for the week.
