Ten Student Athletes Earn Degrees in Fall Commencement

RUSTON - Ten Louisiana Tech student athletes received degrees during the University's fall commencement exercises held at the Thomas Assembly Center Saturday afternoon.
Four Bulldog football players who graduated include the 2011 Ray Gay Award winner and this year's finalist Ryan Allen, wide receivers Myles White and David Gru and offensive lineman Jeremy Graffree. Allen, White and Graffree all earned their bachelor degrees in sociology while Gru received his degree in finance.
Kendra Harmon, a former outfielder for the Lady Techster softball team who earned Academic All-WAC honors in both 2010 and 2011, earned her master's degree in accountancy in Saturday's exercises.
Another former student athlete also received his degree as Luke Burnett returned to Louisiana Tech to complete his degree in accounting after signing a professional contract with the Seattle Mariners after being taken in the 14th round in 2008.
Four other Tech student athletes earned their undergraduate degrees, including Jonathan Bale (golf, business economics), Gabryel Ording (volleyball, kinesiology), Lindsay Brough (soccer, studio arts) and Amy Day (bowling, history).
Louisiana Tech's student athletes continue to rank among the top in the state and conference in Graduation Success Rate and Academic Progress Rate.
