Former Louisiana Tech quarterback Max Causey enters his second year on the LA Tech Sports Network broadcast team as he will serve as the sideline reporter for Bulldog football games.
Causey has strong ties to Louisiana Tech football with numerous relatives playing and coaching in the program, including his father John (1971-73), his cousin Mike (1983-85), and uncles Walter (1966-68) and Tom (1958-60). He is also the grandson of Bulldog coaching legend and Hall of Famer Maxie Lambright.
Causey played quarterback for the Bulldogs during his career while also serving as the holder for current Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee. In 2001, Causey was instrumental in Tech's WAC Championship run as he led the Bulldogs to the game-winning drive in a 45-42 road win at Nevada.
After earning Academic All-WAC honors three times and graduating magna cum laude in less than four years, Causey earned his MBA during his senior season. Upon graduation, he joined the workforce and accepted a position at Merrill Lynch in 2004.
Currently, he is a financial advisor with the company in Shreveport and received the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation. He is a multiple winner of the Focus on Growth award given annually to the top Merrill Lynch advisors.
