Matt Mullis joined the Louisiana Tech Family as an strength and conditioning intern in August 2013.
Mullis joins LA Tech after past stints at LSU and UTEP and will serve as the head strength and conditioning coach for both men's basketball and volleyball, while also assisting with football over the course of the 2013 season.
Mullis is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. He has also received certification in sports performance from the United States Weightlifting Association.
Mullis came to Ruston from El Paso, Texas where he was a graduate assistant for C-USA mate UTEP from 2009 to 2011. While with the Miners, Mullis assisted with football and men's and women's basketball, while heading up the strength and conditioning programs for both women's tennis and men's golf.
Prior to joining the UTEP staff, Mullis was a strength and conditioning intern at LSU from 2008-09. In his time with the Tigers, Mullis assisted with football, baseball, women's basketball, tennis and softball. He helped the development of student athletes who would go on to be crowned 2008 Peach Bowl Champions in football and the 2009 National Champions in baseball.
Mullis earned his Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology in May 2008 from LSU before receiving his Master's degree in educational administration from UTEP in late 2011.
