Wes Todd is in his first year as an assistant media relations director at Louisiana Tech University, handling baseball, women's soccer and women's bowling.

He is a graduate of The University of Tennessee, earning his B.S. in journalism in 2005, and a master's in sport management in 2007.

While at Tennessee, he was sports editor of the campus newspaper, The Daily Beacon. He covered every sport at UT, primarily responsible for football, women's basketball and softball. His coverage included trips to the 2005 Women's Final Four, the 2004 SEC Football Championship and the 2005 Cotton Bowl.

As a graduate student, he spent two years working as a student assistant in the Lady Volunteers' media relations office. His duties there included statistical and press conference responsibilities at home basketball, volleyball and softball games, in addition to editorial work on several of the Lady Vols' award-winning media guides.

Todd worked for his hometown newspaper, The Lake County Banner, while a student at UT. In 2006, the Tennessee Press Association awarded him third place for Best Special Section in the State Press Contest for his high school football preview edition that he wrote, designed and published each year.

He has also been very involved in officiating throughout his career, particularly with football, baseball and softball. He worked five years in the Knoxville area with each sport at the high school level, and umpired baseball and softball at the college level in 2007.

A native of Ridgely, Tenn., the 24-year-old is a 2001 graduate of Lake County High School in Tiptonville, Tenn.
