Outstanding pass rusher during his days with the Bulldogs. Earned All-State honors at Ruston High before becoming a four-time All-Southland Conference and two-time All-American with the Bulldogs. Went on to an All-Pro career with the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. Named as the Outstanding Defensive Player in the National Conference in 1983 when 49ers won their first Super Bowl. During his playing days in the NFL, was considered as the premier pass rusher. A second round draftee of the Chargers following an outstanding career at Tech, where he helped the Bulldogs compile a composite record of 44-4.
