A Ruston native who stayed in his beloved hometown and grew into one of America’s most astute and successful businessmen, James Davison has always included Louisiana Tech in his heart and his deeds. A 1959 Tech graduate, Davison was named Alumnus of the Year in 1974 and was inducted into the university’s Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 1997. He is a former President of the university foundation and the Tech Alumni Association. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities for 17 years, serving as chairman twice, and he has also served on the Governor’s Task Force for Higher Education. He also served 20 years on the Board of the New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary. Always generous and always a builder, Davison has continually worked to enhance athletics at Louisiana Tech. He has been involved in virtually every major step of progress in Tech athletics over the past four decades and continues to show why he is in Tech’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
