John Henry White

White finished his career with 2,944 yards rushing, a mark that stood as the Tech standard for 17 years. The Haynesville, La. product ran for over 100 yards in a game 10 times in his career and was the first Bulldog in school history to surpass 1,000 yards in a season, rushing for 1,094 during his senior campaign. White carried the ball 24 times a game as a senior and did his best work in big games. He ran for 186 yards against Illinois State and 223 against Arkansas State, then the second-best game ever by a Bulldog. Over his career, White helped the Bulldogs to a 34-9-2 record and went on to play 11 years in the Canadian Football League with the British Columbia Lions.
