Adam Kirkendall Ks 18 against Fresno State

Although Kyle Humphreys hit the walk-off home run in the bottom of the 13th, it was LA Tech pitcher Adam Kirkendall that made history. Kirkendall set a single game record with 18 strikeouts in nine innings as LA Tech won for the first time in 10 tries against Fresno State. It broke the old mark of 17 strikeouts by Kevin McGehee against Lamar in 1990. Humphreys hit the second of his two home runs on the day – four in the last two games – as Tech came rallied from an early 5-0 deficit.
