Trey Hadnot Leads Louisiana Tech on Final Day of Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Trey Hadnot ran the second-fastest 200m time in school history as Louisiana Tech wrapped up action at the Tyson Invitational on the University of Arkansas campus late Saturday.

Hadnot finished sixth in the 200m with a time of 21.22, edging Ole Miss’ Isiah Young by three-hundredths (0.03) of a second. His time of 21.22 is second only to his school record time of 21.04 set earlier this season.

Also in the 200m, Josh Goree finished 25th, running 21.86 while Dennis Richardson ran 22.09 to place 37th.

In the 800m, Alwayne Green ran 1:54.15 to finish 20th while Jermaine Morris placed 24th with a time of 1:54.67. Drakius Smith ran 1:59.75 in the event to place 43rd.

On the women’s side, Micara Vassell placed 18th in the weight throw with a mark of 51-6.25 (15.70m) while Marcella LeBlanc threw 44-1.5 (13.45m) to finish 23rd. Rounding out the trop in the weight throw was Sabrittany Angelle who placed 26th with a throw of 39-9.75.

The women’s 4x400m relay team ran 3:45.33 to place 13th.

The Tyson Invitational marked the final regular season meet of the indoor season for Louisiana Tech. The team now looks towards the 2012 WAC Indoor Championships set for Feb. 23-25 in Boise, Idaho.
