Jarvis Gotch Places Second in Long Jump at Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Jarvis Gotch registered the fourth best long jump mark in school history, finishing second in the event, as action kicked off at the Tyson Invitational Friday at the University of Arkansas.
Gotch jumped 25-9.5 (7.86m) to place second in the elite invitational long jump competition behind only Arkansas' Jarrion Lawson's mark of 26-4.25 (8.03m).
Despite Friday's results, Gotch still retains the second-best long jump in the world this indoor season when he jumped 26-7.75 (8.12m) in Nashville, Tennessee on Jan. 31.
In other action at the Tyson Invitational, Brittany Walker ran a personal best 60m time of 7.54 to finish 33rd.
Denisha Henix finished 12th in the women's long jump with a mark of 19-4 (5.89m) while Danielle Zenon placed 17th, jumping 19-2 (5.84m). Mia Adams jumped 19-1.5 (5.83m) to place 19th while Charla Craddock finished 25th with a jump of 18-11.25 (5.77m).
Day two of action at the Tyson Invitational begins at Noon CT Saturday with action broadcast live on SEC Network Plus (SECN+) and WatchESPN.
