With a time of 7.34 in the 60m dash, Chelsea Hayes tied the WAC record, set the Louisiana Tech record and set the WAC Championship record. Hayes matched the WAC record time of 7.34 set by TCU's Monica Twam in 2001. Hayes broke her own school record of 7.39 set on Feb. 11-12, 2011 at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. and broke the WAC Championship record of 7.41 set by Tulsa's Shana Robinson in 2004.

Chelsea Hayes broke the school record in the long jump by 2.5 inches Friday. Her mark of 20-9.75 tops the jump of 20-7.25 set by Donesha Spivey on Feb. 12, 2005.

Tiana Davis' long jump mark of 20-2.5 ties her own personal record and also ties herself for the third-longest jump in school history. Davis previously jumped 20-2.5 on Jan. 14, 2011 in Houston Texas.

Louisiana Tech's men's and women's distance medley relay teams were disqualified after their races due to an illegal baton. Tech's men had finished second while the women and placed eighth prior to the disqualification. Louisiana Tech's coaching staff disputed the disqualification, especially since the meet officials chose to not notify Tech about the illegal baton after the men's race and before the women's race.
