Louisiana Tech Women's Relays Advance at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - Louisiana Tech advanced both the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays to the finals round while Denisha Henix registered a runner-up finish in the long jump as action continued at the 88th Annual Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
The 4x100m relay - led off by LaQuanda James and anchored by Brittany Walker - ran 45.25 to finish fifth and will face Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Purdue, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and UNLV in the finals. Meanwhile the 4x400m relay - led by Diamond Every and anchored by Victoria Wade - ran 3:41.25 and will face Colorado, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Sam Houston State, Texas State, UNLV and Wayland Baptist in the finals Saturday.
Denisha Henix also turned in a strong performance as she was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 19-0.5 (5.80m) while Danielle Zenon finished sixth, jumping 18-7.75 (5.68m). Zenon also competed in the triple jump as she finished 13th with a mark of 37-10.5 (11.54m).
Craddock and Wade also ran in the 100m dash with Craddock running 11.91 to finish 26th and Wade placing 48th with a time of 12.11.
On the men's side Jermey Hicks fell one spot shy of the finals in two different events, placing 10th in the 100m dash with a time of 10.49 and then finished 10th as part of the 4x100m relay along with Jarvis Gotch, Devin Henderson and Darius Statham as they ran 40.61 to place 10th.
Action at the Texas Relays continues Saturday with the running events starting Noon with the 4x100m relay finals at 1:30 p.m. and the 4x400m relay at 4:05 p.m. while field events start at 3 p.m.
