Janiel McDonald Leads Louisiana Tech at Texas Relays Friday
April 1, 2016
AUSTIN, Texas - Louisiana Tech junior Janiel McDonald won her heat and finished 21st in the 100m hurdles in action delayed multiple times due to inclement weather at the 89th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
McDonald was able to get in her race before the worst of the storms hit, delaying the meet by over two hours as inclement weather forced a total of three delays in Friday’s action in Austin. The Miramar, Florida native ran 14.12 in the 100m hurdles to win her heat and finish 21st overall.
Having to wait until after a two-hour lightning delay, Chloe Lautric registered a high jump mark of 5-3.25 (1.61m) once the high jump was able to commence, placing sixth.
On the men’s side, Tramaine Maloney ran 14.12 to place 14th in the 110m hurdles.
Adams returns to action at the Texas Relays Saturday afternoon as she joins Denisha Henix in the women’s long jump competition at 3 p.m.
