@LATechTandF Places 14 on the Podium on Final Day of Leon Johnson NSU Invitational

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Louisiana Tech turned in 14 performances that garnered podium (top three) finishes as action wrapped up on the final day of the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational hosted by Northwestern State in Natchitoches.

Saturday’s action began with Jordan Patrick’s runner-up finish in the decathlon and was highlighted by Jasmine White’s first collegiate win with a mark of 5-7.25 (1.71m) in the high jump.

Patrick’s runner-up finish in the decathlon in the morning sparked a string of second place finishes for Louisiana Tech in the field events. Tamario Lattin was second in the high jump with a mark of 6-8 (2.03m) while Tristan Maughan turned in a runner-up performance in the shot put with a throw of 48-7.5 (14.82m).

Liza Wall continued the string of second place finishes as she was the runner-up in the hammer with a throw of 180-11 (55.15m) while Aprell Williams placed fourth, throwing 176-0 (53.66m). Camille Lott would finish second in the javelin, throwing 136-8 (41.65m).

The runner-up finishes continued into the afternoon on the track as the men’s 4x100m relay squad of Darius Statham, Jermey Hicks, Andrew Bradberry and Jarrett Samuels were second with a time of 40.61 and Evan Warnick’s time of 15.57 in the 110m hurdles placed him second, as did Bianca Jackson in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.97. Hicks would go on to finish third in the 100m dash with a time of 10.62 while Statham would run 37.90 to finish third in the 400m.



Manoah Kiptum ran 4:03.26 to finish third in the 1,50m while Logan Pearce followed in fourth, running 4:06.00.

Louisiana Tech returns to action on Friday, April 15 with the Southeastern Invitational in Hammond.
