Track & Field Records Seven Top-3 Finishes at Southeastern Invitational

HAMMOND, La. - Louisiana Tech recorded a total of seven top-3 finishes and had six athletes set personal record marks as the Southeastern Invitational at the Southeastern Track Complex on Friday in Hammond.
Kendall Hayes won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.54 while Evan Warnick ran 15.13 to place sixth. Brandon Crear added a 15.29 time to finish eighth while Yusuf Muhammad finished 10th with a time of 15.39. Warnick also ran the 400m hurdles, finishing 55.61 to place sixth.
Micara Vassell and Sabrittany Angelle finished second and third, respectively, in the shot put with Vassell throwing 48-5.25 (14.76m) while Angelle threw 45-5 (13.84m). Angelle also finished sixth in the discus, throwing 123-9 (37.71m).
In the long jump Marlesia Carey finished seventh with a jump of 18-4.25 (5.59m) while Charla Craddock finished 10th, jumping 17-8.75 (5.40m). Former Lady Techster Chelsea Hayes won the event with a jump of 21-11 (6.68m).
Louisiana Tech returns to action Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge.
