April 25, 2015

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Louisiana Tech's women's team claimed wins in the 100m and 4x100m relay and a runner-up finish in the 200m in Saturday's Leon Johnson Invitational hosted by Northwestern State in Natchitoches.

LA Tech's women ran a season-best time of 44.76 in the 4x100m relay for the first win of the day. The quartet of Victoria Wade, Brittany Walker, Mia Adams and Charla Craddock dominated the race as McNeese State finished at 45.33 as the runner-up. That time not only will move Tech up in the nation ranks - the team entered the weekend ranked 28th in the nation - but also set a new meet record or the Leon Johnson Invitational.

With her third win of the day, Wade ran the third leg of the 4x400m relay that won with a time of 3:44.02 as she was joined by Kirsten Johnson, Diamond Every and Aminah Blount on the relay.

Marlesia Carey claimed a win and set a new personal best mark with a long jump of 20-0.25 (6.10m) while Mia Adams finished second, jumping 19-10.75 (6.06m).
