Louisiana Tech Notes
Louisiana Tech's Jesseka Jones scored a school record 4,969 points in the heptathlon breaking the old school record of 4,877 points set by Ambert Metoyer in 2005.
Idaho's Ulrike Hartz's heptathlon score of 5,601 points ranks third in school history and currently ranks fifth in the nation.
Idaho's Ulrike Hartz's javelin throw in the heptathlon competition, a throw of 168' 9" (51.45m), is a school record and ranks ninth in the nation. Hartz's mark broke the school record by over nine feet.
This is the first time since 2005 that someone from a school other than Utah State won, as Logan Moore won it in 2006 and then John Strang from 2007-09.
Boise State's Kurt Felix scored 7,412 points to win the decathlon. That point total currently ranks 14th in the nation.
Felix's point total is the most points scored in the decathlon at the WAC Championships since 1996.
