James Rogan, Idaho
Hammer Throw, 66.24m (217-04), 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels great. I've been close before in the hammer and I've always not quite won it. So it feels good to finally win it."

On his overall performance:
"Overall, not that great. I had a really rough start and fouling a lot of throws. I didn't get the marks I wanted to. It was nice to put it together at the end."

Steve Strickland, Utah State

3000m Steeplechase, 9:08.13, 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels good. I've been in this situation before. For some reason I felt a little bit of pressure, but it's good to have it over with. It feels good to get the win especially with the humidity, which I'm not used to."

On being comfortable running with the lead the whole race:
"Yeah, especially in the steeple. I figured it would happen that way. I don't know why everyone let me go so early, but I was just fine."

On running the 1500m Saturday:
"I'm really excited about it. I'd love to win it. I was the two-time champ in the steeple and today gave me a third one. I'm racing the two-time champ in the 1500 tomorrow. He's a good friend of mine and is a really good runner. I assume it will be a really good race."

Zacharias Arnos, Boise State
Long Jump, 7.68m (25.02.50), 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels good to be WAC Champion especially when you are a senior. This is my last championship. I just missed a PR, but I was happy to get first in my last competition."

On the NCAA Regional meet in two weeks:
"Hopefully this competition will help me to go far at regionals and qualify for nationals."

Clint Silcock, Utah State
High Jump, 2.15m (7-00.50)

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels really good. I like getting medals. This is the time of the year where we actually get something for what we do. Plus it gets our team points towards a championship."

On his performance:
"It was a good performance, but not exactly what I wanted. My PR is 7-5, so I was looking for 7-4 or 7-3, somewhere in there. But 7-0.5, it's alright I guess."

Larry Jones, Louisiana Tech
Discus Throw, 55.45m

On winning award twice:
"It feels good. I really enjoyed it. It's just a big blessing. You can't take it for granted because you won it last year."
"I feel really good. I feel like I'm ready for another one. I'm ready for the big jump."

K.C. Dahlgren, Idaho
Pole Vault Champion, 3.95m (12-11.50), 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels really good. It's my senior year so it feels good to finish it with a win and then move on to regionals. It's really nice to set things up for the team because we are hoping for a win this year. I wanted to start it off right, win, and help get those point for my team."

On if she was happy with her performance:
"No I wasn't. I knew I was winning on misses, but I wanted to go to that next height. I still haven't PR'd yet this year so it's been kind of frustrating. I just wanted to go a little bit higher."

On being Indoor and Outdoor WAC Champion:
"I like indoors and I really like outdoors. After having surgery last year, coming back from that was kind of questionable, but it worked out really well for me. Our pole vault has always been really good at Idaho and it's really exciting to keep the legacy going."

Allix Lee-Painter, Idaho
3000m Steeplechase, 10:26.18, 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels good. I had a lot of nerves and anxiety going in. I just really wanted to win it for my coaches and for my team. It feels like a big relief."

On running with the lead:
"It felt good. My coach told me to run my own race. So I went with a pace that was comfortable for me and held it there."

On getting 10 points for Idaho:
"That definitely feels the best. It's a good way to start the meet for me and I hope I can continue to get points for the team."

Ulrike Hartz, Idaho
Javelin, 49.19m (161-05), 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It feels good. After winning the heptathlon yesterday, this one felt like that."

On her performance:
"The first two were pretty good. Then I had some bad ones and I lost my legs."

Antoinette Cobb, Louisiana Tech
100m Hurdles, 13.31, Top Prelim Mark

On her performance:
"It was a clean race. I was pretty happy with the time overall. I'm trying to get myself ready to compete here. We've been practicing well so I'm just trying to qualify for all the finals I can."

On the possibility of winning three-WAC titles:
"I'm always ready to compete, especially this being my last conference meet. I just want to go out on top."

Eleni Kafourou, Boise State
Long Jump, 6.22m (20-05), 1st Place

On being WAC Champion:
"It's nice because it's my last year. It's a nice feeling."

On her performance:
"I didn't like my performance, but in this meet it's all about points. I had to run before the long jump. Sometimes when I do other events before I run, I get stressed out. So it was far enough to win, that's all that matters."

Mykael Bothum, Idaho
Shot Put 16.06, 1st Place

On her performance:
"It's the season best and it's an outdoor PR for the school record at Idaho. It's okay. Indoors, I tagged 56 feet, so I'd like to do better."
