2012 NCAA East Preliminary Championships NOTES Chelsea Hayes qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100-meter dash, marking the second event she has qualified for. Hayes qualified in the long jump Thursday. Chelsea Hayes has now met the “A” standard in both the 100-meter dash (done in late March) and in the long jump (done yesterday). Sophomore Trey Hadnot ran 20.99 in the 200-meter opening round to advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal round. Hadnot finished 22nd overall after entering the East prelims ranked 38th. A native of Ruston, La. (Ruston HS), Hadnot has been plagued by a hamstring injury this season. As a freshman last year, Hadnot made the U.S. Junior National Team and won the bronze medal at the Pan Am Jr. Championships in the 200-meter. Sophomore Kim Francis advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinal round in the 100m hurdles by placing third in her opening round heat. Her time of 13.21 ranks third all-time at Louisiana Tech.
