Joshua Cox Finishes 15th in Javelin at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Joshua Cox recorded a top-15 finish in his first appearance on the national level as the NCAA Championships came to a close Saturday at Heyward Field in Eugene.

Cox set a mark of 213-4 (65.03m) to place 15th in the javelin, edging out Kansas State's Ivan Hartung by over a foot.

A native of Ruston, Louisiana and product of Cedar Creek High School, Cox entered the national meet ranked 14th.

By placing in the top 16, Cox will receive second team All-America honors which will be formally announced Monday.

Cox added to two other marks from Louisiana Tech finishing in the top 15 in the nation this year along with the men's 4x100m relay (12th) and Kim Francis in the 100m hurdles (14th).
