Track and Field Competes at Texas A&M 10 Team Invite Saturday

Louisiana Tech's track and field program will be tested among some of the best in the nation as LA Tech will compete in the Texas A&M 10 Team Invitational Saturday at the Gilliam Indoor Track & Field Stadium at McFerrin Athletic Center in College Station, Texas.

Host Texas A&M highlights the meet with the Aggie women ranked second in the nation and the A&M men ranked fifth in the latest poll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). LA Tech's men, ranked 42nd in that poll, will also square off against No. 18 Baylor and No. 31 UT Arlington in the meet.

Isaiah Underwood, a newcomer to the Bulldog program this season, enters Saturday's meet ranked 21st in the nation in the 60m dash and will run in the first heat of the 60m dash against teammate Dennis Richardson, Texas A&M's Shavez Hart and TCU's Malik Summers.

Devin Henderson, ranked 13th in the nation in the long jump, will be jumping in the second flight along with TCU's Cameron Echols-Luper who ranks 19th in the nation.

On the women's side, Kim Francis enters the 60m hurdles race as the highest ranked hurdler in the field at 12th in the antion but is closely followed by 15th-ranked LaQue Moen-Davis of Texas A&M. The two will run in different heats in the prelims but are expected to face each other in the finals race.

Danielle Zenon leads the Lady Techster jumpers as she is ranked 32nd in the nation in the long jump. A redshirt sophomore from Lafayette, Zenon is the highest ranked jumper competing Saturday but will have to hold off a strong performance by Baylor's Justine Charbonnet and Texas A&M's Jennifer Madu to claim an individual title.
