LA Tech T&F to Compete at Pittsburg State Invitational

RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech Track & Field squads continues its indoor season this Saturday when the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters travel to compete in the Pittsburg State Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Saturday’s indoor meet, which is hosted by the Pittsburg State Gorillas, will be held at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.
LA Tech’s men and women will compete in a total of 14 running events and 12 field events on Saturday. The day begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with running events, while field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and continue through Saturday evening. The afternoon session on Saturday will feature the remaining running events beginning at 3:30 p.m.

A total of 42 Louisiana Tech student-athletes will compete in the 2018 Pittsburg State Invitational with 22 on the women’s squad and 20 men scheduled to represent the Bulldogs on Saturday.
Two weeks ago at the Texas A&M Ted Nelson Invitational, Louisiana Tech set a new school record on the women's side with true freshman Anna Weeks finishing fourth in the pole vault with a program-record mark of 11-8.5 (3.57m). Another record-setting performance came in the women's 3,000m run after junior Kacie Kaufman (Communications, 4.0 GPA) broke a 28-year-old Louisiana Tech record with a time of 10:29.05 to place fifth in the event.
Louisiana Tech notched a total of 18 top five finishes combined in field and running events at the Texas A&M Invitational on Jan. 12.
