@LATechTandF Men Ranked 52nd Nationally

NEW ORLEANS - Louisiana Tech’s men and women moved up in the regional rankings while the men’s team entered the first week of February ranked 52nd nationally.
The weekly rankings were released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The men’s team moved up four spots in the South Central Region rankings to No. 15, ahead of Northwestern State, McNeese State and Rice. Jarvis Gotch’s performance over the weekend pushed him to third in the region in the long jump and eighth in the 60m dash while Tramaine Maloney is now ranked sixth in the region in the 60m hurdles.
The women’s team jumped three spots to 11th in the region, led by Mia Adams career-matching long jump performance over the weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Adams now ranks third in the region in the long jump while Chloe Lautric ranks third in the high jump. Denisha Henix entered the regional ranks, slated eighth in the triple jump.
Nationally, Louisiana Tech’s men now rank 52nd overall with Gotch ranking sixth nationally (and first in Conference USA) in the long jump and 19th nationally (second in C-USA) in the 60m while Jermey Hicks is 34th nationally (fourth in C-USA) in the 60m dash.
Louisiana Tech returns to action on Feb. 12-13 at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.
