DENVER - Louisiana Tech junior Trey Hadnot was named the Western Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week after setting a new school record in the 200m last weekend.

Hadnot, a junior from Ruston, La. (Ruston H.S.), set a new school record in the 200m as he finished as the top collegiate runner and second overall at the Tyson Invitational. Hadnot’s time of 20.81 ranks tied for fourth in the nation and is the first time a Louisiana Tech sprinter has ran under 21.00 in the indoor 200m. Hadnot also ran on the 4x400m relay that ran 3:14.88, the top 4x400m relay time in the WAC this season.

Louisiana Tech and Hadnot will compete for a conference title next weekend as Tech heads to Albuquerque, N.M. for the 2013 WAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 21-23.
