Kids Zone, T-Day Spring Game Highlight Weekend's Events

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech fans have a lot to look forward to on the school's campus with a Saturday full of events highlighted by Saturday's T-Day Spring Football Game and the Ruston Brick Kids Zone.
Saturday's action begins at 12:30 p.m. with the opening of the Ruston Brick Kids Zone on the southwest hill inside Joe Aillet Stadium and the start of throwing events for the Jim Mize Invitational next door at the Jim Mize Track and Field Facility.
Admission for both facilities - football and track - is free of charge on Saturday. Fans entering Joe Aillet Stadium for the Ruston Brick Kids Zone and the T-Day Spring Game should enter through the west side gates of the stadium.
The T-Day Spring Game kicks off at 2 p.m. as the Blue and White teams battle in the annual end to spring football practice. The T-Day Spring Game will be the last chance to see the team in action before fall camp. The game will also be video streamed live on LA Tech All-Access. Concessions will be open in the stadium along with the ability to purchase season tickets for the 2011 football season. The Ruston Brick Kids Zone will include an inflatable jump, a ball toss, games and more.
Running events at the Jim Mize Invitational begin with the women's 4x100m relay at 4 p.m. on the track and will include Louisiana Tech's women, who are ranked 34th in the nation. The track meet will also include teams from Grambling and Southeastern Louisiana.
The Louisiana Tech baseball team continues their 11-game homestand at J.C. Love Field with a pair of weekend games against LSUS beginning Saturday at 6 p.m. and concluding Sunday at 1 p.m.
The two clubs have met on eight prior occasions with the Bulldogs owning a 7-1 all-time record against the Pilots. Southpaw Mike Jefferson is expected to get the start on the mound on Saturday night while Jeb Stefan is penciled in as the Sunday starter.
The Bulldogs will conclude their season-long homestand and open up conference play next weekend with a four-game set against the Aggies of New Mexico State.
