LA Tech Track & Field Travels to SFA Invitational

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Track and Field will travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, this weekend where the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters are gearing up to compete in the 2017 Stephen F. Austin Carl Kight Invitational.
The annual meet will be held at Fletcher Garner Track and is set to run through Saturday afternoon with both field and running events taking place over the course of the next two days.
Louisiana Tech will have a total of 38 student-athletes in action over the weekend, with 20 men competing and 18 women.
LA Tech's men and women will compete against a 14-team field on Friday and Saturday, including Central Arkansas, Dallas Baptist, UL-Monroe, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, Rice and Southern Arkansas.
The field events get underway at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon with the pole vault, long jump, javelin and shot put, while the remaining field events (hammer, discus, triple jump, high jump) will commence Saturday morning. This weekend's running events are set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday before continuing throughout the day on Saturday.
