@LATechTandF Set for Leon Johnson NSU Invitational

RUSTON, La. - After back-to-back meets in Texas, Louisiana Tech’s track and field program returns to The Pelican State for three consecutive meets starting with the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational hosted by Northwestern State in Natchitoches.
The meet, which begins with a handful of events Friday afternoon, features host Northwestern State and Kennesaw State.
Mia Adams highlights a long jump field that will compete at 5 p.m. Friday as she enters the week ranked eighth in the nation and first in Conference USA. Meanwhile Louisiana Tech’s Jarrett Samuels is ranked 30th nationally in the men’s long jump, a competition that will begin at 5:10 p.m. Friday.
Saturday’s action begins at 11 a.m. with the field events as the men’s high jump, women’s hammer throw and men’s shot put start things off.
Track events start at 1 p.m. with the 3,000m steeplechase followed by the 4x100m relay. Action wraps up with the 4x400m relay Saturday afternoon.
