RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Track and Field Sends Split-Squad Groups to Drake Relays, Penn Relays This Weekend Lady Techsters boast two marks ranked in the top 20 in the world RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's track and field program will split squads this weekend with two of the nation's premier collegiate track meets taking place. One group will head to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa with the other group competing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.

Lashannda Worthy ran a personal best time of 54.72 in the 400m and helped the women's 4x400m relay team run a season best mark while Billy Ray Walker and Marcelles Atkinson swept the 400m hurdles highlighting a successful day at the LSU Alumni Gold Track Meet for Louisiana Tech.

Lady Techsters Among World Leaders
► Louisiana Tech continually posts some of the best marks in Louisiana and in the Western Athletic Conference but did you know LA Tech also posts some of the best marks in the world? Entering this weekend's split-squad competition at the Drake Relays and Penn Relays, the Lady Techsters have two marks ranked among the world's best this year.

Antoinette Cobb enters the weekend ranked 19th in the world and 13th in the United States in the 100m hurdles after running a school record mark of 13.22 on April 3 at the Texas Relays. More recently, LA Tech's 4x400m relay team ran 3:36.20 at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, a mark that is currently ranked 19th in the world and 14th in the nation. The Tech quartet of Kamelia Stroy, Monique Wright, Lashannda Worthy and Shante Benion ran the mark in Baton Rouge, La.

Albert Fullwood Garners WAC Weekly Award
► Louisiana Tech's Albert Fullwood was honored by the Western Athletic Conference on April 20 after being named the WAC Track Athlete of the Week. Fullwood ran a season-best and WAC-leading 200-meter time of 20.93 seconds at the LSU Alumni Gold in Baton Rouge, La. on April 17. Fullwood's time is the fastest in the conference by over a half second in the event. The senior also ran the opening leg of the 4x100m relay team that ran 40.34, which tops the WAC so far this season.

Antoinette Cobb Honored by WAC Again...And Again And Again.
► Louisiana Tech's Antoinette Cobb was honored by the Western Athletic Conference Tuesday when the league office named her the WAC Track Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive week. Cobb reigned in the honor after winning the 100m and 200m dashes at the Ole Miss Invitational and running the opening leg of the 4x100m relay team that placed second.

Louisiana Tech Sweeps WAC Track Athlete of the Week Awards
► Louisiana Tech's Chasidee Lewis-Baker and Demonte Willis were named the women's and men's Western Athletic Conference Track Athletes of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. Both athletes won their races at the Jim Mize Invitational on Saturday. Both sprinters earned their first WAC weekly honor of the season as Louisiana Tech began its outdoor season.

Lewis-Baker won the 100-meter dash at the Jim Mize Invitational with a time of 11.84 seconds and ran the opening leg of the 4x100m relay team that won at the Jim Mize Invitational with a time of 46.24. Willis won the 400 meters with a time of 48.07 and ran the opening leg of the 4x400m relay team that won that race with a time of 3:15.05.
