Louisiana Tech Track and Field Inks Standout Signees

RUSTON, La. -

Louisiana Tech head track and field coach Gary Stanley announced the signing of three athletes to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, adding a talented trio of student-athletes to his championship program. 

 

Reyna Anderson

Events: Sprints

Baton Rouge, La. (Baton Rouge Magnet HS)

High School: Four-time state champion with the most recent being a 55m dash title with a time of 7.3 in the 2011 indoor meet … Finished third at state in the 400m with a time of 57.8 after running 57.2 in the qualifier, just two-tenths of a second behind the national leader … Led her team to a state title her junior year while placing third in the 400m with a time of 57.2 … Won state titles in the 4x400m relay and 4x200m relay her sophomore year while also finishing second at the state meet in the 200m.

New Orleans, La. (Edna Karr HS)

High School: A three-time state champion … Won the state title in the 400m her junior year while anchoring the 4x400m relay to a second consecutive state title that season … Led team to a second place finish at the state meet her freshman year, leading the 4x200m relay and the 4x400m relay to top three finishes … Led the New Era Track Club to a fourth place finish in the 4x100m relay and an eighth place finish in the 4x400m relay at the 2010 USATF Junior Olympics … Was the 400m champion at the USATF Southern Region meet and finished 11th in the 400m at the 2009 USATF Junior Olympics … Coached at Edna Karr HS by Wayne Hardy, Samuel Richardson and Tonya Allen … Coached at the New Era Track Club by Safiyyullah Yusuf and Raynaud Alexander.
