LA Tech Track & Field Set for Leon Johnson NSU Invitational

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Track and Field will make the short 90-minute trip to Natchitoches this weekend as the men and women gear up to compete in the annual Leon Johnson NSU Invitational on Saturday, April 29.
The meet is hosted by Northwestern State and is scheduled to begin Saturday morning at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex in Natchitoches.
The action picks up Saturday morning with both the men’s and women’s field events beginning at 10 a.m. and running throughout the afternoon, while the running events will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday. All heats will be run against time with no finals, while field events will have both preliminaries and finals.
Louisiana Tech will have a total of 40 student-athletes in action this weekend with 19 men competing and 21 entries on the women’s side. Overall, it will be a busy Saturday as the two squads are scheduled to compete in 31 total events with 17 on the men’s side and 14 for the women.
The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters are scheduled to compete in an 11-team field on Saturday, including three in-state programs in Northwestern State, McNeese State, Southeastern Louisiana and UL-Lafayette. Other schools traveling to compete in Natchitoches this weekend include Lamar, Southern Arkansas, Alcorn State, Wiley College, Jarvis Christian and Texas College.
