RUSTON - After posting career-best times in the 100m and 200m at the Bobcat Classic in San Marcos, Texas on Saturday, Louisiana Tech senior Trey Hadnot was named the Conference USA Track and Field Athlete of the Week announced today by the league office.
Hadnot ran a PR-mark of 20.43 in the 200m, a time that ranks second in C-USA this season, third in the NCAA East Preliminary qualifying list and eighth in the nation. His time of 20.43 also ranks 23rd in the world this year among wind-assisted marks.
The Ruston, La. native also ran a career-best time of 10.36 in the 100m dash, ranking him third in C-USA this season, 26th in the NCAA East Preliminary qualifying list and 45th in the country.
This is Hadnot's first C-USA Track and Field weekly award this season. He shared the honor with Richard Garrett Jr. of UTSA.
Next up for Hadnot and the LA Tech squad is the Conference USA Championships being held in Houston, Texas from May 15-18.
