RUSTON - The Western Athletic Conference announced the academic all-conference selections for the winter sports and nine Louisiana Tech student-athletes earned honors.
Earning academic all-WAC honors for the winter were indoor track and field competitors Jeff Boudreaux, Tiana Davis, Joshua Goree, Chasidee Lewis-Baker, Wade McGaha, Whitney Smith, Micara Vassell, Quatisha Williams and Matthew Wolfe.
All nine student-athletes helped lead the program to another Western Athletic Conference indoor track and field title in February.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contest.
This past year, LA Tech saw eight of its 16 programs record their highest multi-year APR scores ever with all 16 programs being penalty free. Tech's men's golf and women's bowling teams honored nationally by the NCAA with Public Recognition Awards, based on their most recent multi-year APR scores.
Tech also recorded its highest student-athlete Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and its highest four-year graduation rate ever.
Tech's student-athletes four-year graduation rate ranks No. 1 in the state of Louisiana among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) public institutions and second among all WAC schools. Tech was one of only two WAC schools and one of only three state schools (LSU, Tulane) that had multiple teams honored.
