Louisiana Tech Men Finish Fifth at LSU Cross Country Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. -

Louisiana Tech ran an average time of 28:49.04 as the men's cross country team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the LSU Invitational Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Louisiana Tech finished with 102 points, beating Louisiana-Lafayette by 77 points. Miami (Ohio) won the meet with 32 points while LSU finished second with 59 points.

Josh Slocum led the Bulldogs with an 11th place finish and a time of 28:14.3. Steven Cortez followed with a time of 28:20.1 to place 13th.

Kyle Davis finished 24th for the Bulldogs with a time of 29:05.0, Brent Kitto placed 26th with a time of 29:10.3 and Ashton Taylor ran 29:15.5 to finish 28th.

Houston Baptist's Matt Perri won the individual title with a time of 26:59.9.

Louisiana Tech returns to action on Monday, Oct. 3 when Tech travels to Natchitoches, La. for the Northwestern State Invitational.
