Techsters Finish Fifth and Sixth at Northwestern and Centenary Invitationals

The Louisiana Tech women’s cross country team finished in fifth place and sixth place at the Northwestern and Centenary Invitationals, respectively.

The Techsters travelled to Natchitoches to compete in the Northwestern Invitational on Oct. 1. Tech was led by Junior Mary Kate Hayes who finished 11th overall with a time of 27:06. Following Hayes, was Freshman Emily Lantz who finished with a time of 29:01. Rounding out the scoring for the Techsters were Marlesia Carey, Danielle Zenon, and Laticia Watson who posted times of 33:29, 33:31, and 34:19 respectively.

On Oct. 6 the team traveled to Shreveport for the Centenary Invitational. Hayes again led the way for Tech finishing eighth overall with a time of 26:21. Lantz finished second in scoring for the Bulldogs with a time of 29:42. Carey was third in scoring posting a time of 32:33. Alex Young and Laticia Watson wrapped up the scoring for the Techsters with times of 32:34 and 34:01 respectively.

The next action for the Techsters will be Oct. 13 when the team travels to Clinton, Mississippi for the Mississippi College Invitational.
