CLINTON, Miss. - Louisiana Tech's men's team, paced by top-10 finishes by Alwayne Green and Josh Slocum, ran to a third place finish out of 14 schools Saturday at the Choctaw Open hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton. Tech's women's team finished 12th.
Green's time of 26:38.95 placed him fifth overall while Slocum finished seventh with a time of 26:44.11. Four Bulldogs finished within five spots of each other led by Kyle Davis' time of 27:20.79 as he placed 15th. Matt Wolfe finished 17th with a time of 27:25.72 and Brent Kitto finished 18th with a time of 27:28.54 while Steven Cortez followed with a time of 27:28.90 and a 19th place finish.
The men's team placed third overall in a crowded field of 14 schools, scoring 62 points. Tech fell just shy of South Alabama's 44 points for second place while fourth-place Loyola (163 points) didn't come close.
On the women's side, Mary Kate Hays was once again Tech's top finisher with a time of 21:19.68 as she placed 36th. Chelsea Dressel ran 22:14.26 to finish 57th and Dana Ramstad placed 61st with a time of 22:38.16.
The women's team finished 12th out of 15 teams with 285 points.
