LA Tech Men Finish 20th at Crimson Classic
Oct. 18, 2014 Results TUSCALOOSA, Ala. and LAFAYETTE, La. - Reigning Conference USA Athlete of the Week Taylor Ashton led Louisiana Tech for the fourth consecutive race this season as the Bulldogs finished 20th at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa while the women's team placed fifth at the Ragin Cajuns Invitational late Friday.
Ashton ran 27:00.7 in the 8k race, leading Louisiana Tech.
Two Bulldogs followed closely behind as Anthony Plourde finished in 27:10.78 and Josh Pearce finished with a time of 27:12.27. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was Tom Stringer who ran the course in 27:29.65 and Kramer Jackson who finished with a time of 28:01.72.
The women's team was led by Hayley Berg who finished 17th overall with a time of 20:23.4.
Following Berg was Hope Harris who finished 25th with a time of 21:25.8 and Brittany McCrum who finished the 5 kilometer course in 22:52.7. Rounding out the scoring for the women were Caroline Fontenot who finished 31st with a time of 24:15.9 and Cassie Divin who finished 33rd with a time of 25:06.1.
Both cross country teams will now prepare for the Conference USA Championships on Nov. 1, in Denton, Texas.
