Plourde Leads Cross Country at NCAA Regionals

WACO, Texas - Louisiana Tech junior Anthony Plourde led Louisiana Tech Friday morning as the Bulldogs competed at the NCAA South Central Regional cross country meet on the Baylor campus in Waco.
Plourde ran 33:01.8 in the 10,000-meter race to lead a group of four Bulldog runners that competed at the regional meet, placing 85th out of over 140 runners. The meet marked the first time this season Plourde has ran the top time of Tech’s runners.
Junior Taylor Ashton followed as he finished 90th, running 33:07.1.
Paul Sakit and Josh Pearce both started the race but were unable to finish due to injury.
The regional meet concludes the 2013 cross country season for Louisiana Tech. The program will resume action in January with the start of the indoor track and field season.
