RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech head coach Gary Stanley announced the 2012 cross country schedules Tuesday with the team beginning action Saturday at the Mook 4 Meet in Ruston.
The annual Mook 4 meet is the first of two home meets Tech is hosting at Lincoln Parish Park this year as Louisiana Tech will also host the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Oct. 27.
The Mook 4 is aptly named as the men run a four-mile race while the women run a 4k race at Lincoln Parish Park.
Tech's men's team will compete at the McNeese Invitational on Sept. 29 in Lake Charles while the women will run at the Northwestern Invitational in Natchitoches on Oct. 1. Both the men and women run in the Centenary Invitational on Oct. 6 before leaving the state for the first time on Oct. 13 to compete at the Mississippi College Invitational in Clinton, Miss. on Oct. 13.
The two teams will wrap up the regular season on Oct. 19 in Natchitoches as the Demon Invitational before returning home to host the WAC Championships.
If any runners qualify, the NCAA Regional meet will be held in Fayetteville, Ark. On Nov. 9.
