RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech head cross country coach Gary Stanley announced the program’s 2013 schedule Wednesday afternoon as the team gears up for its annual home event Saturday morning at Lincoln Parish Park.
The 2013 slate – LA Tech’s first in Conference USA – features three regular season meets for the women and a challenging four regular season meet slate for the men with two meets at Southeastern Conference schools.
LA Tech’s Annual Mook 5 Invitational will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Lincoln Parish Park with races beginning at 9 a.m.
The next three weeks will see split men’s and women’s meets for the program starting with the men’s team going to Lake Charles on Sept. 28 for the McNeese Cowboy Stampede.
The following weekend, the women’s team will compete in the Watson Ford Invitational in Clinton, Miss. hosted by Mississippi College on Oct. 4 while the men will run in the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. on Oct. 5.
The women’s team will run in the Demon Invitational at Northwestern State on Oct. 12 in Natchitoches while the men will head to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Oct. 18 to compete in the Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama.
The Conference USA Championship meet will be held on Nov. 2 in Denton, Texas with North Texas hosting the race. The postseason continues for qualified runners on Nov. 15 in Waco, Texas at the NCAA Regional meet.
