Cross Country Set to Compete at Aggieland Open

RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech Cross Country team is back in action on Friday, Oct. 6 when they travel to College Station, Texas to compete in the Aggieland Open at 5 p.m.
Joining the Bulldogs in the seven team field will be Texas A&M, Baylor, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin and Texas Southern.
The action kicks off at 5 p.m. with the 5,000 meter women’s race which will be followed by the 8,000 meter men’s race at 5:30 p.m.
The meet features three schools whose men’s teams currently rank top-10 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region Rankings led by Texas A&M who ranks third. Baylor, who ranks fourth and Stephen F. Austin who ranks seventh are the other two joining the Aggies.
On the women’s side, Baylor enters the meet ranked third, with Texas A&M and Stephen F. Austin following at sixth and seventh, respectively.
Both the Louisiana Tech men and women are coming off of fantastic finishes at the Mook Triple-Duals, which saw Manoah Kiptum and Kacie Kaufman take home individual first place finishes.
