2008: Named to preseason list of 2008 Brooks Player of the Year Award Watch List...Made 10 appearances, mostly as a starter (8)...Was opening day starter for Bulldogs against McNeese State (2/22)...In his first outing, he pitched four innings, gave up five hits, four runs, recorded four strikeouts and walked five...Best appearance of season came vs. Sacramento State (4/5)...In four innings of relief, he allowed two hits, zero earned runs, walked two and struck out three...Recorded a season-high eight innings pitched on 4/19 at San Jose State...Selected in the 14th round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners.

2007: Led the WAC with 115 strikeouts, which ties for the third-best single-season mark in school history...Opponents batted .221 against him, also a league-best mark...Threw first career complete game at Sacramento State...Gave up five hits and two runs in the win...Won three consecutive starts against Dallas Baptist, New Mexico State and Sacramento State...Named WAC Pitcher of the Week for his win over McNeese State...Struck out a career-high 14 batters against McNeese State (2/15); matched that mark with a 14-K performance against New Mexico State (4/5).

2006: Burnett was named WAC Pitcher of the Week on May 15 for his outing against New Mexico State...Earned the win, throwing eight innings with 11 strikeouts and no runs...Threw seven innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision outing against Fresno State in a 5-4 win...Recorded the first win of his career against Michigan on March 10 at the Baylor Invitational.

High School: Lettered three years under coach Scott Lee for the Carthage High School Bulldogs in Carthage, Texas...Helped lead the Bulldogs to 2005 State Championship his senior season...Named 2003 All-District Defensive Player of the Year for 16-3A his sophomore season and All-East Texas Honorable Mention...Named all-district pitcher of the year in 2005 as a senior...Named first team all-state...Named Texas Sports Writers 3A Player of the Year...3A State Tournament MVP...Picked in 35th round of Major League Baseball draft by Kansas City...Finished 13-1, with ERA of .73, 168 SO's, 27 BB's, 105 innings, and 45 hits.
