Razorbacks Rally to Down Bulldogs, 13-10

March 1, 2017

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech fell for the first time on Wednesday afternoon, as No. 20 Arkansas came from behind to defeat the Bulldogs 13-10 at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

Tyler Follis made his first career start and went four innings, striking out three and give up two earned runs. Six Louisiana Tech pitchers saw action in the game.

Louisiana Tech put up ten runs in the first two innings as the Bulldogs got big blows from Lunceford, Ullrich and Diaz. The three combined for seven RBIs over the first three innings.

The Diamond Dogs blasted two home runs in the first inning off of the bats of Brent Diaz and Chase Lunceford.

The Bulldogs put up a seven-spot in the second inning, without the use of the long ball. Ullrich had two extra base hits in the inning, a double and a triple, while Jordan Washam and Chase Lunceford also had RBI-hits to help drive the inning.

After two innings, Louisiana Tech held a 10-1 lead. Arkansas would chip away inning-by-inning to come all the way back and more. The Hogs scored 12 unanswered runs to complete the comeback.

Brad Loeske was credited with the win for Arkansas, pitching four scoreless innings and striking out seven.

The loss snaps a 15-game home winning streak. The Bulldogs were one of the final seven teams in college baseball to have an undefeated record.

The crowd of 2,901 was the sixth highest attendance for a game in program history.

Louisiana Tech will be back in action at the Love Shack on Friday night, hosting undefeated Wichita State for a three-game set. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday’s actions will start at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
