RUSTON, La. - The Fall World Series continued Saturday night as the Gray team knocked off the Black team 10-3 to take a 2-0 lead in the seven-game series at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
Ben Carlisle started on the mound for the Gray squad in game two allowing two runs on five hits and recording two strikeouts. Adam Derouen, who pitched three scoreless innings for the Gray team, replaced Carlisle in the sixth.
Bre'shon Kimbell led the Gray team with five runs batted in, including four on a grand slam in the eighth inning to break open the scoring for Gray. Pierce Spangler was also 3-for-4 on the night for the Gray squad with two runs scored.
The gray team exploded for nine runs in the eighth and ninth innings to take a commanding lead and the second game of the series after trailing 2-1 up until that point.
The teams will now take a two-day break and resume the series at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.
